The Chevening Scholarships is the flagship global scholarship program of the British Government. The Clarendon Scholarship Fund is a prestigious graduate scholarship scheme offering around 140 new scholarships every year to eligible graduate applicants (including international students) at the University of Oxford. Clarendon Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and potential across all degree-bearing subjects at graduate level at the University of Oxford. The scholarships cover tuition and college fees in full and a generous grant for living expenses.


Commonwealth Cambridge Scholarship

Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Programme aims to attract the best foreign students for master’s and PhD degree programs at participating French Universities. Eiffel scholarship-holders receive a monthly allowance; it does not cover tuition fees. In addition, the scholarship covers various other expenses including return trip, health insurance and cultural activities.

Fulbright Scholarship

The Fulbright Scholarship Program is the flagship international exchange scholarship program between the U.S. Government and 155 countries. Each year, approximately 1,800 Fulbright scholarships are awarded to excellent foreign students who wish to pursue a Masters or PhD Degree in the United States. The Fulbright Scholarship Program provides full funding for the duration of the study which includes tuition, textbooks, airfare, a living stipend, and health insurance.


Gates Cambridge Scholarships

The Gates Cambridge Scholarships are one of the most prestigious international scholarships which are open to all international students from all over the world. The scholarships are full-cost awards for graduate study and research in any subject available at the University of Cambridge. The scholarship covers the university fees, maintenance allowances, airfare, etc. About 100 new Gates Scholars are awarded annually.

Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program provides a year of professional enrichment in the United States for experienced professionals from designated countries throughout the world. The Fellowship provides ten months of non-degree academic study and related professional experiences in the United States. Fellows are selected based on their potential for leadership and their commitment to public service in either the public or private sector.


Hughes Hall Cambridge International Scholarship

Priority will be given to applicants who are currently members of Hughes Hall.


Humboldt Research Fellowship

Offered by: Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

Application are accepted from researchers from abroad with above average qualifications, at the beginning of their academic career and who have only completed their doctorate in the last four years. A Humboldt Research Fellowship for postdoctoral researchers allows successful applicants to carry out long-term research (6-24 months) in Germany. Applicants choose their own topic of research and their academic host.


John Monash Scholarships

The General Sir John Monash Foundation offers up to twenty Scholarships per year for postgraduate study at leading overseas universities. The John Monash Scholarships recognise excellence and leadership, and celebrate one of Australia’s finest leaders: General Sir John Monash. Each year the Scholarships are awarded to outstanding Australian graduates to enable them to study for a Masters or Doctoral degree at the world’s best universities.


LEGO Cambridge Scholarship

This scholarship is available to PhD applicants of any nationality, whose research will contribute to the work of the University of Cambridge's Centre for Research on Play in Education, Development and Learning.


LMB Cambridge Scholarship

This scholarship is available for PhD applicants in Molecular Biology.


RG Menzies Scholarship to Harvard

The Robert Gordon Menzies Scholarships to Harvard are Australia's most prestigious national awards for postgraduate study in the United States. Inaugurated in 1967 by prominent Australian alumni of Harvard to honour the Australian statesman and longest-serving Prime Minister, the Menzies Scholarship grants at least one annual award to talented Australians who have gained admission to a Harvard graduate school. The ideal candidates for the Scholarship are Australians whose primary objective, after completing their studies at Harvard, is to make a significant contribution to this country's development.

Awarded in partnership with The Harvard Club of Australia and the Australian National University, the scholarship is administered by the ANU for postgraduate study in the at Harvard University in the United States.

The scholarship has been awarded to over 80 scholars since 1967. The Selection Committee may award up to two Menzies Scholarships valued at up to US$60,000 each. An additional Menzies Scholarships valued at US$60,000 may be offered every second year by HCA Philanthropy - 'Class of 1970', for a Menzies Scholar to study at the Harvard Business School.

Candidates for the Scholarship are Australians whose primary objective, after completing their studies at Harvard, is to make a significant contribution to Australia's development.


The Harvard Fellowships for Research

Australia-Harvard Fellowship is an initiative of the Harvard Club of Australia Foundation, a long-standing nationwide philanthropic organisation based in Sydney. It promotes learned exchange between Harvard University and Australia, and reinforces existing academic networks at mid-career and senior levels.

Begun in 2004, the A-HF program has already granted some 60 Fellowships derived from the Foundation’s contribution of more than a million dollars. The Fellowships are recognised as prestigious awards with substantial impacts on scientific discovery and career advancement.

The Australia-Harvard Fellowships are aimed at innovators who are normally based at Harvard and have a persuasive plan to collaborate with Australia’s best bioscience researchers and educators. The award also supports Australian researchers who wish later to follow up such joint initiatives at Harvard.

A Fellowship takes the form of a donation to a qualified Australian institution. It covers the cost of travel and subsistence, allowing an Australian researcher to bring a Harvard counterpart to this country for lengthy scientific collaboration. Fellowships are awarded annually and applications open in April of the preceding year and close in September. Winners are announced in January.


Mountbatten Cambridge International Scholarship

Value: University Composition Fee, annual stipend (sufficient for a single person).

Applicants should require financial assistance in order to study at the University of Cambridge. Successful candidates should have been selected to receive a Cambridge International Scholarship, and be offered a place at Christ's College.

This scholarship is available to PhD candidates from Commonwealth countries, in any subject, and is tenable at Christ's College.
Priority will be given to candidates from developing countries who show intent to use their studies to contribute to the further advancement of their home region or country.


Queens' College Stephen Thomas Studentship

Application: No separate application is required for this scholarship.
Value: University Composition Fee, annual stipend (for a single person)

Applicants should select Queens' College as their first choice college, and should be successful in the Cambridge International Scholarship competition.

This scholarship is available to PhD applicants in the fields of Engineering or Computer Science, and is only tenable at Queens' College.
The programme allows for one student in residence each year, and an award will next be made to a student starting in 2017-18.


Rhodes Scholarships

The Rhodes Scholarships are postgraduate awards supporting exceptional all-round students at the University of Oxford. Established in the will of Cecil Rhodes in 1902, the Rhodes is the oldest and perhaps the most prestigious international scholarship program in the world.


Roberta Sykes Scholarship at the University of Cambridge

Application deadline: The University application deadline for the LLM (Master of Law) in 2016-17 is 15 November 2015.

This scholarship is available to Australian students who are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, and who apply to take a Master's or PhD at the University of Cambridge. It is only tenable at one of the following colleges: Clare, Clare Hall, Darwin, King's, St Edmund's, Trinity, Wolfson.


Rotary Foundation Global Study Grants

The Rotary Foundation offers scholarship funding through the Rotary Foundation Global Grant scholarships. The scholarship funds graduate-level coursework or research for one to four academic years. The minimum budget for a global grant scholarship is $30,000.


Santander Cambridge Scholarship

Application deadline: the University application deadline for the LLM (Master of Law) in 2016-17 is 15 November 2015.
Value: £10,000

This scholarship is available to Masters applicants from any country, although priority will be given to applicants from members of the network of Santander Universities.


Schlumberger Cambridge International Scholarship

Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships

The Swiss Government, through the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS), awards various postgraduate scholarships to foreign scholars and researchers. These scholarships provide graduates from all fields with the opportunity to pursue doctoral or postdoctoral research at one of the public funded university or recognized institution in Switzerland. The scholarship covers a monthly payment, exemption of tuition fees, health insurance, air fare, special lodging allowance, etc.


Wellcome Cambridge Trust Scholarship

Offered by: Wellcome Trust research projects

Application: No separate application is required for this scholarship.

Value: The scholarship will pay the difference between the University tuition fee at the Home/EU rate and at the overseas rate, all other costs will be subject to approval from the relevant School/Department.

This scholarship is available to research students in the University's research projects funded by the Wellcome Trust.


Westpac Bicentennial Foundation Scholarships

A Churchill Fellowship offers ordinary Australians the opportunity to travel to the far edges of the globe to conduct valuable research in their field and bring back knowledge, experience, ideas and innovation for the betterment of their industry, community and Australia. 
Fellowships are awarded for the purpose of pursuing an overseas investigative project of a kind that is not readily available in Australia. The Fellowship is not designed to enable applicants to complete tertiary qualifications.


Woolf Institute Cambridge Scholarship
